Brian Golding carries out research to advance Met Office capability to forecast risks from hazardous weather, especially floods.
Brian is co-chair of the World Meteorological Organisation’s 10-year high impact weather research project, HIWeather. He has been involved in Numerical Weather Prediction since joining the Met Office in 1972.
From 2006 to 2012 Brian directed the Met Office’s research in Weather Science, including all aspects of the weather forecasting process.
Brian is a co-Project Investigator for MEDMI and the lead on MEDMI for the Met Office.
