Andy Haines is Professor of Public Health and Primary Care at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) having been Director of the School between 2001-2010. His interests include the linkages between global environmental change and health, including the health effects of policies to promote sustainable development.
He has been on the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Panel of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, hosted by UNEP. He was chair of the Rockefeller Foundation/Lancet Commission on Planetary Health which published its findings in July 2015 and chair of an international collaboration on the Health Co-benefits of Climate Change mitigation strategies which published a series of papers in the Lancet in 2009.
Andy is the Project Investigator for MEDMI at the LSHTM.
